Airplane Crash

On May 10, 2014, at approximately 3:39 PM, a Cessna Aircraft owned by American Aviation based out of Salt Lake City Utah, was attempting to land at the Page Airport in windy conditions.

The plane crash landed approximately 230 ft short of runway #15. There were 6 passengers from France on board plus the pilot. These passengers were part of a French tour group who charted the Cessna for a 40 minute sightseeing trip around the Page area.

Four passengers and the pilot were taken to the Page Hospital with minor injuries and were later treated and released.

One passenger identified as, 79 year old Jacquelina Vallois from Le Havre, France, was taken to the Page Hospital with life threatening injuries. At 4:36 PM, Ms Vallois was pronounced deceased. Ms. Vallois was taken to the Coconino County Medical Examiner's office where an autopsy was performed. The results of that autopsy have not been released at this time.

One passenger, identified as Guy Vincent from France was flown to the Flagstaff Medical Center with back injuries. At last report Mr. Vincent was in stable condition.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Page Police Department and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
