Two Year Investigation Leads to Arrest of Page Resident for Four Counts of Child Molestation
PAGE, AZ (March 30, 2015): On March 24, 2015 at approximately 7:00 am, Page Police Department officers arrested 78 year old Page Resident, Richard Ruffell, for a warrant listing four counts of Child Molestation. The warrant was the result of a two year investigation into allegations that were made as Mr. Ruffell acted as a substitute teacher at Lake View Elementary School. The four counts of Child Molestation listed on the warrant are for acts involving two different students in classes Mr. Ruffell substituted in between 2011 and 2014. These cases are still under investigation. Mr. Ruffell was booked into the Coconino County Jail in Page, Arizona.
One Vehicle Rollover with Injuries
PAGE, AZ (February 9, 2015): On February 9, 2015 at approximately 11:22 am, personnel from Page Police and Fire Departments along with the Coconino County Sheriff's Office and the Arizona Department of Public Safety, responded to a 911 call reporting a one vehicle rollover on Lake Powell Boulevard at the intersection of Kaibab Road.
Vehicle Crashes into Page High School
On August 26, 2014, at approximately 4:22 AM, members of the Page Police Department and Fire Department were dispatched to the Page High School on a call of a single vehicle accident.
Upon arrival on scene, the officers found that a gray Chevy Suburban had driven through the wall of the Page High School and was completely inside the building. The officers located the driver who was still in the vehicle.
Stabbing at 15 Cascade
On June 20, 2014, at approximately 8:47 hours, the Page Police and Page Fire emergency units were dispatched to #15 Cascade for a report of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, the units located a 33 year old man identified as, Earl Boone of Page. Mr. Boone was located on Cascade just outside of #10 Cascade. Mr. Boone had multiple stab wounds on his head, back and chest. Mr. Boone was transported to the Page Hospital emergency room where he was treated and admitted into the hospital in good condition. The Page Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene and conducted an investigation of the incident.
On May 21, 2014, at approximately 5:30 AM, members of the Page Police Department responded to the Page Hospital to take a report on a stabbing call.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the investigation revealed that an altercation happened between family members and one person was stabbed several times. While conducting the interview, we found out that the person who was stabbed had died of his injuries. The victim was identified as, 28 year old Jeremiah Welch of Kaibeto, Arizona.
